  1. This almost amounts to funny, and I'm feeling very short of mirth these days. The BND will be taken to the Black Forest woodshed for briefly displaying a death grip on obvious, dated conclusions. In the flood of cretinous naif reporting about IS in Syria, the Iranian-Shia axis reaching now from Aden to the Mediterranean, is always carefully downplayed. Western narratives of what is happening, from the demeaning Obama presentation of the diminuendo of American power (Don't worry folks, It's not about Islam...just keep saying it), or the European presentation (Floggings, FGM, crucifixions, beheadings, very unattractive, despite our multicultural yearnings), hides a basic tilt towards Tehran's tale. Don't worry: Putin likes it too, so you're in great company. 'Destabilizing?' We should ask exactly what represents stability in this, or any other region. Memos containing this term usually contain lazy blinkered thinking, and this, like most doesn't disappoint.
