  1. In response to your questions, the pistol is French 8 mm Lebel. The lanyard will slow the assailant at least 5 sec.;)

  2. I could not access the clip either on this post or on YouTube, so I am limited. From what I know about Algeria, it is primarily Muslim, and I am surprised that they could not get funds from their fellow Muslims in other countries and that they would have to resort to guerilla warfare. Also, I am surprised by the low level of fighting because Algeria is one of the world's most important oil-producing countries and a primary exporter of liqufied natural gas. If I am totally off, please enlighten me. Thanks!

  3. Concerned that you're not able to see this - don't you get a message saying 'Imbedding disabled by request/Watch on Youtube' which allows you to click on the 'Watch on Youtube' portion???

  4. I finally accessed this piece on YouTube, and now I know that we are talking about the nationalist revolt of the Algerians against the French from 1954-1962. I am curious to know if this is a documentary or the real thing, because all of the victims were unsuspecting. The killing, if this can ever be said, was surprisingly civil for "guerrilla" warfare. I was going down the wrong path to the Algerian support of the Polisario! Thank you, Jim, for gently correcting me.
