  1. I love "Waughnabees," and I am happy to see that they are a majority in David Cameron's cabinet. Unlike during the Thatcher era, however, these men are more open-minded - gay rights, etc. I thought that the three men in the photo looked dapper in their bowlers, and that is coming from someone who dated a young Englishman who sported a walking stick! One note about Evelyn Waugh: he converted to Catholicism in 1930 and anyone who has either read or seen "Brideshead Revisited" can tell that his new (or should I say old) religion had a profound affect on his work. Neverless, Sebastian and Charles were impeccably dressed in the book and the movie. All of my male (and now married) male friends shop on Bond Street and Saville Row and, when in NYC, they stock up on Brooks Brothers PJ's. Kudos to the Waughnabees! Oh-one thing James sharpe should be aware of is that for some very young men, there is no budget for their wardrobes.

  2. I realized that I did not make any statements and "the fogeys" regarding policy. I assume that the predominantly "fogey" cabinet is yielding to much pressure from the left and are not advising based upon their Tory instincts. What has to be overhauled is the class (caste) system without necessarily deposing the monarchy. I can tell when an Englishman opens his mouth if he is from the South or the North, highbrow or lowbrow. Also, the nobility should be less revered. Richard Branson, who fancies himself a self-made man despite the fact that he went to The Stowe School, has less of a chance socially than an impoverished Duke. We have this to a lesser extent here, but it is clearly not that unfair. Some people don't get jobs based upon their accents! To sum, I LOVE the fogey look, but the mentality needs a little work.
